Purchased for my 3 year old. She really loves them and is able to play with the creation after it’s built. For a 3 year old this is definitely not an independent play activity, but a great activity to do with parents. We would purchase again and probably go with a bigger set.My 4th grade students love this! They ask to play it all the time!Very durable. My son builds trucks and sits on them. He's six. Only one broken part since JulyMy child loves to play with it. It keeps him engaged for a very long time.My spouse thought our kid would love these. And he did, for about an hour.The main issue is that the distribution of the pieces by shape and color doesn't exactly align with the included instructions.For example, did you think the dinosaur you were going to build was going to have a red tail? Guess what, that piece is really orange! Or maybe it's blue, or green, or literally any color other than what's pictured in the manual.This disappointed my kid, since he wanted the builds to EXACTLY match the pictures. Sorry, pal, but what's provided is all there is. If you wanted your dinosaur to have that red tail, well you're just going to have to use your imagination!My grandson plays with a similar brand at daycare and loves them. So I bought him a set for his birthday. He plays with them ALL the time. Only issue was it says it came in a storage box, but it did not.I thought I would write a review from a different perspective. One of a musician. My mian instrument is bass guitar, but I also tickle the ivories on occasion. The reason I bought this is probably for two reasons. One is that smaller portable instruments are readily available to play, and as I'm sitting at my desk at work, I can take a quick break and play an instrument. The other reason is because I sometimes need to figure out songs quickly writing down chord changes, and I just need an instrument handy that I can play to sound out chords. This serves the latter purpose perfectly, although it takes batteries or power to operate other than that it's perfect. The sounds are good enough, and it even has different tones.It's also pretty with the colored keys and the texture of the keys are soothing to the touch. So I was delighted when I got it and tested it out.One major drawback is I was hoping to bring it along to jam sessions and play a little keyboards, but it won't be serving that purpose. I might use it in an acoustic jam putting it in my backpack, but it's too difficult to play. Sometimes the black keys won't play at first, and other times if I'm playing a chord not all the notes sound out. So I find myself just pounding this thing to get it to work. So it would work for a short jam maybe one song, here and there, but I could not play it for hours I would get tired right away and frustrated.I have yet to run it into an amp but it has an earphone outuput that I can run into an amp which is great too. I can use this in rehearsal to show the musicians some ideas, and things like that. A nice utility to have.I don't regret buying this, but I think I am going to try another keyboard for the pleasure side of things to jam on during the breaks and keep this one handy for when I want to figure out chords, or play a little for pleasure.It would be fun to surprise someone by pulling it out of my backpack and playing it at a bar.Another thing is I was hoping it would fit on my keyboard tray for my desk but it's a little too long. Look, portability factors and the ability to play some simple music on it is great. However, you won't be playing any Rachmaninoff on it. There are 49 keys on this device which gives you a greater range of notes than some other products out there. I tested each key and they all work. I did notice that the device responds better when on a solid surface rather than the carpeted floor. However, even with the solid background surface in place I have noticed some inconsistencies in responsiveness. Sometimes keys will plunk multiple times, or not at all almost as if there is a short in the wiring. This was probably based on where I was touching the keys, because I did test every single key when it arrived and confirmed they all work. I was able to get a maximum of 5 keys to play at the same time (with some effort). The device seems to start to struggle if you try and hit 3 or more keys at the same time. A lot of times there is a delay in the notes playing so you might get 2 notes at the same time and then a split second later the 3rd will join. It's not impossible to do, but is definitely a limitation in the device. The keys are raised silicone style material and have a slight give when pressing them down.There are 8 different tones and only 2 of them sound similar. You can only use one tone at a time.There is a demo mode that can play 6 different songs. You cannot play along at the same time. Playing a demo song seems to turn off the keyboard.You can choose to put 3 AAA batteries in the device for mobility purposes. I can't say what the actual shelf life is on that, because I could not remember if I completely turned the device off one day and the next day the batteries were dead. That was about 3 days after I put batteries in. Another note regarding the battery feature....this has only happened once to me, but when I was rolling up the device (powered off) I received a small shock when I accidently touched either the "EX-SP" or "DC6V" Port. Needless to say, I am constantly monitoring when my little one is playing with this device.The additional USB DC6V plug adapter is handy when your batteries die and don't have any extra on-hand.This was a big hit on Christmas Day, with our 3 and 5 yrs old grandsons. Especially with headphones!The look and feel is of a quality item, that looks durable. Comes with several drum patterns and accompaniments. This great piece of kit should encourage any hidden talent. Here’s hoping.Ordered this as a Christmas present and after virtually no use it has become faulty - the sound has corrupted and become really fuzzy and distorted (and yes, I have tried different batteries). I can't seem to see a returns button, so it looks as though I am stuck with it. A complete waste of money.Love this drum. Can put it on any flat surface and let the kids bang on it til thier heart desires. Its kept my 3 yr old granddaughter happy for hours.she loves it so much she asks me to bring it out for her almost daily.The sound is great, it doesnt always pick up the stick hitting a drum at times and volume is always reset to highest when u turn it on. Other than that I love it.As mentioned below which I did not pay attention to - it is TRUE - screws are too long and many of the examples in the booklet you can`t accomplish because of the issues with the screws. It was a waste and my grandchild played maybe 1 hour at the most before getting upset with it.
